How Amad Diallo fared in Ivory Coast’s 2-1 win against France

Amad came on as a second-half substitute as the Ivory Coast beat France 2-1 ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Although it wasn’t a brilliant season for Amad Diallo by any means, the Ivorian winger was a mainstay in the team.

At the early stages of the 2025/26 campaign, Amad played as a right wing-back under Ruben Amorim. He returned to his preferred role further forward on the same flank.

Amad is currently preparing for the World Cup with his Ivory Coast teammates. They managed to beat France 2-1 on Thursday night.

Amad Diallo scores the winner against France

Amad was introduced at the beginning of the second half, with France leading the match 1-0.

The United winger replaced Oumar Diakite on the right wing at the beginning of the half, but it was his goal that proved decisive for Ivory Coast to win the match 2-1.

It was Amad’s 19th appearance for the Ivory Coast, and he’ll be hoping to be as influential when the 2026 World Cup kicks off.

Amad touched the ball 29 times and made one tackle as well as four defensive recoveries.

The 23-year-old finished the game with an 88% pass success rate.

Amad and his Ivory Coast teammates will be hoping to take this level of performance with them into the World Cup this summer.
