Legendary Swedish striker Henrik Larsson has given his verdict on what Ruben Amorim needs to turn things around at Manchester United.

After finishing 15th in the Premier League and losing the Europa League final against Tottenham last season, United fans were optimistic that the team would improve this term.
United lost 3-1 to Brentford last week, and they’ve only managed two wins from their first six matches in the league. These are signs that fans are in for another turbulent campaign unless things change for the better.
The only way Amorim can lift some of the pressure from his shoulders is by winning football matches. United can get back to winning ways when Sunderland visit Old Trafford on Saturday, but a draw or defeat could prove disastrous for the 40-year-old coach.
However, some pundits and former players think that Ineos should remain patient with Amorim and ride out the storm.

United have sacked several managers since Sir Alex Ferguson retired, but doing so never fixed the problems that already existed at the club.
Instead, problems from previous managers carried over to the next manager. That was evident with United struggling to score goals under Erik ten Hag because it remains a serious issue under Amorim.
Former United loanee Henrik Larsson believes United’s first team and Amorim need space to fix their problems.
“The current United team has struggled for years, but I don’t want to speculate too much,” Larsson told Flashscore.
“The squad and the coach need the space to correct what needs to be corrected.”
That means Larsson doesn’t believe a change in management is required at Old Trafford, which will come as a relief to Amorim and his entourage.
After hanging up his boots in 2013, Larsson spent several years as a coach, but he hasn’t sat in a dugout since 2019.

Larsson joined United on loan in January 2007 and made an immediate impact by scoring on his debut against Aston Villa.
After arriving on loan from Helsingborgs, Larsson responded to his first start in a Red shirt by scoring the opening goal in a 2-1 win over Villa.
United progressed to the FA Cup fourth round following the win and Larsson went on to make a total of 13 appearances for the club, scoring three goals.
Larsson’s best record came at Celtic, where he found the back of the net 227 times in 301 matches.
