Henrik Larsson has given his prediction ahead of Manchester United’s game against FC Copenhagen in Parken.
Manchester United go into the game knowing that anything other than a win would be disastrous for the Red Devils’ hopes of getting out of the group.
Their fate may have already been sealed in the group if it wasn’t for a brilliant Andre Onana penalty save in the dying embers of the clash at Old Trafford. Well, the man who stepped up to take the penalty Jordan Larsson, is Henrik Larsson’s son.
Now the former Swedish striker, who had a successful, albeit brief, spell at Old Trafford, gave his thoughts on the clash.
Larsson’s prediction
The ex-striker spoke to the United website about the clash and was impressed with the Danish side and believes they will provide a stern test for Erik ten Hag.
“Well, I was in Manchester for the away game and I think that Copenhagen played a fairly even game with Manchester United,” Larsson said.
“I think they played a really good game and I think they were a little bit unlucky not to get a draw. Obviously, I would have loved to see my son score the penalty, but it wasn’t to be that time.
“Tonight, I think Manchester United are going to be more aware of what they are facing because now they play them once, but I still fancy the chances for Copenhagen to get some form of result today because they’re strong playing at home.”
Importance of tonight’s game
The importance of the clash in Parken, which Jacob Neestrup, FC Copenhagen manager, said was 100 times more intense than what Old Trafford was like, cannot be understated.
Anything other than a victory in Denmark and Champions League qualification could become very unlikely, a defeat would leave us bottom after four matches.
United would have a chance to rescue the situation but would realistically need to beat both Galatasaray and Bayern Munich to advance to the next round of the competition.
