The vibes at Manchester United look immaculate right now after two consecutive statement performances at Anfield and Emirates Stadium.

Man Utd followed up the draw at Anfield, which could have almost been a win if not for Harry Maguire fluffing his shot, with a battling win at Arsenal.

Despite the referee making many mistakes, most against United, the ten men after Diogo Dalot’s sending-off huffed and puffed to take Arsenal to penalties where they emerged victorious.

Bruno Fernandes’s goal sent United on their way as the captain continued his talismanic ways and Harry Maguire’s response to him after the game caught the eye.

Harry Maguire issues cheeky response to Bruno Fernandes

Fernandes’ Instagram responses have become the stuff of legends because they seem so unfiltered and raw which always excites the fans.

After the Arsenal win, Fernandes posted on Instagram some stills from his goal with the message, “Great battle and effort from everyone”.

Altay Bayindir, the hero of the game, responded by calling him “Capitano” but Maguire’s response was the most noteworthy.

Referring to Fernandes’ sublime technique of hitting a bouncing ball first time into the back of the net, Maguire said, “Can you teach me please?”, referring to his own miss against Liverpool.

Zirkzee had passed to Maguire in acres of space against Liverpool and with a gaping goal in front of him, Maguire got too much under the ball and skied the ball into the stands instead.

It cost United a memorable win and stopped Maguire from achieving cult status with Man Utd fans, something he so clearly regrets still!

Harry Maguire has emerged as a leader

Bruno Fernandes has the armband and he’s improving in the role but the man he received it from, Maguire, has turned a corner once again.

Maguire was flawless against Arsenal and has made that central centre-back position his own in recent weeks, culminating in a titanic performance at the Emirates Stadium.

Amorim’s admission that United was starved of leaders seems to have been taken to heart by many players and Maguire, after his contract extension, figures to play a crucial role in fixing that problem.

The Arsenal performance and his positive interactions with teammates on social media will go a long way towards cementing his standing in the dressing room.
