A video of Harry Maguire’s debut highlights has gone viral on Twitter, which has left fans questioning where it all went wrong for the United captain.
Harry Maguire arrived from Leicester in August 2019, for a whopping £80 million pounds. Since then, Maguire has had a strange time at Old Trafford. He’s now fallen massively out of favour under Erik ten Hag, which has led to many speculating whether his future at the club is under question.
What many forget is how good Maguire was when he initially joined the club. In his first season, he was fantastic. He was dominant, assured and it looked like the Red Devils had invested their money wisely.
However, since becoming club captain, his form has certainly dipped. He looks nervous, lacking in ability and ultimately doesn’t look good enough to play for Manchester United.

Harry Maguire debut highlights go viral
Maguire made his debut against Chelsea at Old Trafford. Ole Gunnar Solskjaers’ side were rampant and ended up winning 4 – 0 in front of a delighted Old Trafford crowd.
The stand-out performer was undeniably debutant, Maguire. He was a rock at the back and dominated from start to finish. He even picked up the Man of the Match award.
This video of his highlights was posted by the official Manchester United Twitter account, along with the caption, ‘The man is a colossus. Plain and simple.’
However, the clip has now gone viral again four years down the line. Fans are now looking back and thinking where it all went wrong for him. The highlights can be viewed below.
Some believe it is the sheer amount of toxic and negative abuse the defender has received that has severely affected his performance.
Others comment that Maguire looks so much slimmer here, so maybe it’s something to do with poor training or diet.
Whatever it is, it’s sad to see the downfall of the 30-year-old. He’s always seemed to care about the club and has been subject to a barrage of online hate.
We sincerely hope Maguire can turn it around in the latter stages of his career and get back to his best.
