Manchester United captain Harry Maguire was solid at the back as his side beat Everton 2-0 at Old Trafford.
The performance was highly impressive, playing on the front foot and creating a host of chances while limiting Everton’s game.
On this Maguire said, “A really good performance. Really on the front foot, aggressive. We played in their half and didn’t let them breathe.
“We should have been out of sight so it’s disappointment that we only scored two goals.”

He added that, “I think every game we want to start like this, we want to be on the front foot and be aggressive.
“The first half was perfect apart from being a bit more clinical.”
This was in reference to the six big chances missed during the first-half prior to Scott McTominay‘s breakthrough.
Maguire on his United career
Maguire despite being captain has not been a regular starter under Erik ten Hag this season, but he remains optimistic and available when called upon.
“It’s great to lead the lads out at Old Trafford and get a clean sheet and get three points.
“I have a responsibility to make sure the club moves forward and that’s whether I’m playing or not.”
Maguire added that he is among the four top centre-backs at the club [Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelöf], and understands why game time can be limited.
“I respect and know that we have good competition in my position at this club.
“There’s four top international centre-backs at this club and we are all pushing to be the best.”
Maguire has balanced between being ten Hag’s third and fourth choice this season, with just 12 league appearances out of a possible 29.
