Harry Maguire and Alejandro Garnacho are in complete agreement after Bournemouth clash, only one thing on their minds

Alejandro Garnacho and Harry Maguire both featured from the off as Manchester United drew 1-1 with Bournemouth in the Premier League.

A late Rasmus Hojlund strike saved a point for Ruben Amorim and his Manchester United side after Antoine Semenyo put the Cherries ahead.

Another Premier League fixture passes – but none of them really mean anything anymore. The league campaign is over for the Red Devils.

But the Europa League campaign is well and truly alive. It appears that’s on the minds of multiple Manchester United stars already.

Alejandro Garnacho and Harry Maguire have Bilbao on their minds

Harry Maguire took to Instagram after the fixture to thank the away fans for their support, whilst also looking ahead to Thursday’s clash with Athletic Club. He wrote: ‘Thanks for your support. Bilbao next.’

His teammate, Alejandro Garnacho, also took to Instagram to acknowledge his mind is already in Spain. He simply wrote: ‘Thursday, Thursday.’

Manchester United’s head coach will surely be thinking the same. He noted that the Bournemouth clash was a good test ahead of Bilbao, with the two teams very similar in terms of a high press.

Amorim said post-match: “These teams are quite similar in the high pressure, the way they press, so it was a good game to prepare for one of the most important games in our season [against Athletic Club].”

Manchester United now look to the Europa League

After yet another disappointing game at Bournemouth, Manchester United now look ahead to their biggest clash of the season – a Europa League semi-final clash against Athletic Club.

Amorim’s first managerial campaign with the Red Devils ultimately rests on this result – and if United lose in the away leg, the hopes of anything to celebrate about this season dwindle even more.

Ernesto Valverde’s side aren’t worried about facing United – and for good reason. They sit fourth in La Liga and, given United’s shocking form recently, probably go in as slight favourites.

All will be revealed on Thursday night at the Estadio de San Mamés.
