Hannibal sends message to Manchester United fans after feisty Liverpool cameo

Manchester United youngster Hannibal Mejbri has sent a passionate message to the fans following his feisty cameo against Liverpool.

The Tunisian international came off the bench in the 84th minute at Anfield to make his first Premier League appearance of the season.

It was clear from the moment that the midfielder entered the fray that he was one of the very few Manchester United players who were up for the fight.

Playing against our fierce rivals, United’s senior stars gave Jurgen Klopp’s side the freedom of Anfield.

There is no denying the quality Thiago possesses, but Manchester United didn’t even attempt to get near the Spaniard. We looked star struck and beaten before the whistle even blew.

It took the introduction of Hannibal to inject some needle and bite into the clash. The 19-year-old smashed into Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson where he picked up a booking before launching into another challenge.

The teenager may have been lucky to stay on the pitch but his aggressive approach drew praise from United legend Gary Neville.

The Sky Sports pundit said: “To be fair, at least the kid is showing a bit of something. He’s sprinting to make a tackle and showing the rest of them.

“I’m proud of him. Maybe he doesn’t like the rest of them passing around him.

“I wish the rest were the same. That kid to be fair, he’s giving it some at least.”

Another former United right-back who was ‘proud’ of Hannibal’s lively cameo was Antonio Valencia.

With Paul Pogba coming off injured and United already lacking options in midfield, Hannibal could feature more as United’s dreadful season draws to a close.

The former Monaco youngster has posted a passionate message on Instagram, vowing to fight for the Manchester United badge.
