One of the more interesting transfer reports to emerge over the weekend was Manchester United’s interest in Hakim Ziyech.
The Sun report United are one of several clubs interested in the Ajax sensation who has led his side to the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Ziyech scored his 20th goal of the season in all competitions for Ajax last night.
Add this to the 20 assists he has too, and it’s quite a tally for the attacking midfielder.
The 26-year-old can play on either flank, but has done so predominantly on the right wing.
This has been an obvious area of weakness for United in recent seasons, particularly this year, and needs addressing in the summer.
What makes the Ziyech rumours so intriguing is his release clause.
The Sun report Ziyech is available at just £25 million this summer.
It’s a bargain price and frees up money to be invested in other areas of United’s squad which also need addressing.
Potential alternatives include Jadon Sancho and Hirving Lozano.
Ziyech’s sensational season means he is a very credible option as a summer signing too.
Perhaps Edwin van der Sar can bring him to United.
