Gary Neville has admitted it is ‘doubtful’ that Erik ten Hag succeeds at Manchester United and explains why.
Erik ten Hag hasn’t been making many admirers recently, with poor performances lacking style and substance. Often wins are reliant on individual brilliance while the squad of ‘superstars’ struggle to play together according to Tim Sherwood.
This was supposed to be the season he kicked on, but in the last three games – despite winning all three – Manchester United have been outplayed badly.
Brentford, Sheffield United and Copenhagen are teams United should be walking all over, but instead lucky wins while being played off the park.
This led the Danish media to criticise Ten Hag following the Champions League game, and now Gary Neville has also gave his honest verdict on the Dutchman.

During a Q&A on his X account, Neville was asked if he believes Ten Hag will be a success at Manchester United, his response was damning.
“If [to] succeed is winning a league and Champions League it’s doubtful under this ownership” Neville explained.
Following this he was asked where he thought United would finish in the Premier League table, to which “6th” was his answer.
For all the belief we have that Ten Hag will come good, it is difficult to see how he does that at the moment.
Can Ten Hag turn this around?
Obviously he can, but the real question is will he. This is something we aren’t so confident about at the moment.
It would be easier to see the success route if we were playing well, but there is little positive to take from any game recently.
We are winning games in my opinion, like a side in the bottom half of the table would, which is worrying as it is completely unsustainable.
We wonder where the brilliant passing and quick attacking moves of last season have gone and if they are ever returning. A worrying situation, which Neville seems to be equally concerned about.
