Ruben Amorim watched on from the Old Trafford dugout as United led 1-0 over West Ham in the second half, only for the Red Devils to blow their lead under him.
Diogo Dalot opened the scoring in the second half after a huge deflection from a Casemiro shot allowed the ball to land into his path when he was unmarked.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s men fought back against the Red Devils in the second half and West Ham netted an equaliser against United thanks to Soungoutou Magassa.

Manchester United are in eighth place in the Premier League table and dropped valuable points in their race to challenge for the top four in the 2025-26 campaign.
The Red Devils are only two points adrift from fourth-place Chelsea, but United could have moved level on points if they had overcome West Ham on Thursday.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Gary Neville pointed out how wide open the Premier League season has been after different top-half teams have recklessly dropped points.

However, the 50-year-old United legend suggested that he could see in Amorim’s eyes how frustrated the Red Devils boss was with the 1-1 scoreline at Old Trafford.
“Everyone’s losing, everyone’s dropping points, everyone apart from Arsenal, Sunderland and a couple of others are not playing anywhere near the standards that they can achieve,” he said on The Gary Neville Podcast.
“I know Ruben Amorim’s on here, you can see it in his eyes. The frown, can’t you?”

United have won only once in their last five matches and dropped Premier League points to Nottingham Forest, Tottenham and West Ham in recent weeks.
The Red Devils also suffered a setback at Old Trafford last week after United’s 1-0 defeat to 10-man Everton in their Premier League match.

Neville has insisted that United manager Amorim will be “absolutely livid” that the Red Devils cannot perform at the standard he expects when it is needed the most.
“You can see where he’s at,” he continued.
“He’ll be absolutely livid and gutted that his team can’t deliver at the point where he needs them to.”
United will now travel away to face Wolves on Monday before the Red Devils return to Premier League action at Old Trafford against Bournemouth on 15th December.
