Manchester United were second best in every area as they suffered defeat to Newcastle United.
Even if all focus is on Thursday’s Europa League clash against Lyon, the 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon was extremely disappointing.
Manchester United put up a fight in the first half with Alejandro Garnacho scoring his 10th goal of the season to draw level, but in the second half the Red Devils barely made it a contest.
Roy Keane slammed United’s performance before suggesting that Ruben Amorim is lacking players who are willing to run – Amorim likely wouldn’t disagree with that statement.

Gary Neville names Man United duo who are good enough
United’s defeat on Sunday means they remain 14th in the Premier League table and are guaranteed their lowest-ever points tally this season.
Bruno Fernandes admitted he was “frustrated” at his teammates after the full-time whistle and United legend Gary Neville argued that United’s captain was one of only two players alongside Amad Diallo who are up to the club’s standards.
Speaking on NBC Sports, Neville said: “I don’t think there’s a lack of effort.
“They’re giving it their all. They’re so below the standard and quality you need at that football club all over the pitch. Other than Bruno (Fernandes) and Amad Diallo maybe, I can’t think of any of them I would hang my hat on.
“It’s a really desperate situation. The squad is so poor on quality. They have old players, they have young players who are nowhere near it, they have a group in the middle… it’s a worrying situation.”
Ineos are planning a summer overhaul, and by the sounds of it, Neville believes they need to clear out the majority of the squad.
Man United are missing Amad Diallo
After loaning out Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony, Amorim put a lot of faith in Amad Diallo to be a key player in United’s attack.
However, Amad suffered a serious ankle injury that required surgery. Despite initial reports that he could miss the rest of the season, it seems he could make an incredible early return.
United shared an Amad injury update last week, with the 22-year-old returning to training.

Amorim is positive about Amad’s recovery, meaning he will hopefully be able to feature in the latter stages of the season – including potential Europa League clashes.
Amad was taking huge steps of progress under Amorim before his injury, and given that the side have struggled in front of goal his return will be a huge boost.
