Gary Neville and Roy Keane both drop bold Brentford vs Man Utd predictions as ‘stormer’ claim is made

Manchester United legends Gary Neville and Roy Keane have dropped their respective predictions for the Red Devils’ Premier League clash against Brentford on Saturday.

Erik ten Hag’s men will travel to the Gtech Community Stadium for their first match post-international break, with kick-off scheduled for 8pm UK time.

Manchester United received a major boost in momentum ahead of the March international break after they knocked Liverpool out of the FA Cup quarter-finals.

The Red Devils’ 4-3 win over Liverpool at Old Trafford earned them a place in the FA Cup semi-finals, with United set to face Coventry City at Wembley next month.

Despite their success in the FA Cup so far, United face a bigger task when it comes to finishing in the Premier League top four this season.

United manager Erik ten Hag and Red Devils skipper Bruno Fernandes have previously said that the Premier League club must target a top-four finish.

The Red Devils are sixth in the Premier League table and are six points behind fifth-place Tottenham with only 10 league matches to be played this season.

Aston Villa are fourth and hold a three-point lead over Tottenham and a nine-point advantage over United, though Unai Emery’s men have played one match more.

Keane and Wright make Brentford vs Man Utd prediction

Speaking on The Overlap, Gary Neville, Roy Keane, Ian Wright and Jill Scott sat down to make their Premier League predictions for this weekend’s matches.

Roy Keane, who was partnered up with Ian Wright, insisted that Brentford are an “average” team and backed the Red Devils to pick up the win away from home.

“Brentford are average,” he said.

Responding to Keane, Wright said: “Go with United for momentum, I think. The momentum, they should [win].”

Keane went on to predict a 2-1 scoreline in favour of United at the Gtech Community Stadium, but Wright didn’t agree with the United legend’s scoreline result.

“2-1 United,” Keane continued.

Wright added: “Wow, I wouldn’t have done that.”

Neville drops scoreline prediction for Brentford vs Man Utd

Jill Scott filled in for Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher as Neville’s partner, with the United legend’s team currently outscoring Keane and Wright on predictions.

Thomas Frank’s Brentford have endured a tough run of results, with the Premier League side only picking up a single point in their last six matches.

Brentford’s last league win came in February with their 2-0 win over Wolves at the Molineux, as Thomas Frank’s men need to secure more Premier League points.

Keane insisted that Brentford are “desperate” to pick up a result, with Frank’s side in 15th place and only five points clear of the Premier League relegation zone.

“Brentford, the jury is out, to be fair,” he said, before adding: “They’re desperate for a result.”

Neville admitted that he wasn’t sure what to expect from United before he predicted a 3-2 scoreline for the Red Devils, adding that it could be a “bit of a stormer.”

“You don’t know with United, but they’re likely to win, aren’t they? I think 3-2. A bit of a stormer. 3-2 United,” he said.

Wright says United have a “vibe” after Denmark striker Rasmus Hojlund made his return from injury, saying both he and Keane should have picked a bigger scoreline.

Reacting to Neville, he said: “Hojlund’s back, you know what I mean? There’s a vibe.

“I’m feeling like United will [win]. Nice one. Good shout.”

Wright added: “We should have went 5-4.”
