Last night, they came from behind to beat Huddersfield Town 2-1 in the fifth round and Garner set up Sam Surridge’s equaliser with a searching pass.
It was his sixth goal involvement in his last eight matches, which are impressive numbers for a midfield player who is really making his mark now.
He signalled his intent to get on the scoresheet too, by taking as many shots on the night as any player in a red shirt as per WhoScored.
No Forest player made more interceptions than his two and he had 77 touches overall in the game.
That win last night has set up a huge clash for Forest and Garner, against Liverpool in the quarter-finals later this month.
That game will take place over the weekend of 19 and 20 March, which is actually when United were meant to be playing Liverpool at Anfield themselves.
That game has now been called off but one Manchester United man will be facing Jurgen Klopp’s side in the shape of Garner.
That will be a huge chance to shine for the young midfielder, against United’s bitterest rivals and one of the top clubs in European football.
United need to see whether Garner can cut it against Premier League opposition and it will be a big test against Liverpool.
Garner has already played in FA Cup wins against Arsenal and Leicester this season and would likely love to continue the giant killing streak later this month to set up a semi-final clash at Wembley.
