Gabby Agbonlahor labels Man United midfielder ‘immature’ after decision

Casemiro had a rather poor night for Manchester United as he was sent off against Galatasaray during their 3-2 defeat to the Turkish side.

The Brazilian has been wildly out of form this season and last night was yet another example of the midfielder playing all over the pitch but not for the good of the team.

Casemiro was dismissed after Andre Onana gave the ball away and the Brazilian simply had to make a tackle because Dries Mertens was bearing down on goal for the Turkish side.

However, not everyone believes the Brazilian had to make the tackle that led to the penalty.

Agbonlahor on Casemiro

Perhaps unsurprisingly, former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor is not so keen on defending the former Real Madrid midfielder after his decision to tackle in the box.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor was keen to criticise the decision-making of the Brazilian: “Casemiro gets overrun in the midfield game after game. It was an immature decision to make that tackle.

“It’s not your mistake, it’s Onana’s, he should have let him make the save and not dive in for a silly tackle and a second yellow card which ultimately cost them the game.

“You should let Onana make the save, you stay on and then you potentially win the game but in the end they had to play the last part of the game with 10 men.”

Is Agbonlahor right

The Manchester United midfielder did not have to slide in and make that challenge but he did because that is the type of player he is.

The Brazilian is a passionate player who plays with his heart on his sleeve, he was always going to make that tackle.

In the current game state, however, the midfielder had to make the tackle as United were in all sorts of trouble.

Had Icardi not scored soon after missing the penalty and United went on to win the game then the Brazilian would have been lauded after the game.
