Manchester United’s players are currently in Spain as part of a winter training camp with manager Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag named a 29-man squad, comprising of under-21 and under-18 players, with many senior stars away at the World Cup.

We got a first look at the training camp when United released images upon arrival at the weekend and held a first training session.

More have since been released from Monday’s training; here is a look at four things we spotted…

Marc Jurado sends Brandon Williams for a spin

FA Youth Cup winning right-back Marc Jurado was seen sending Brandon Williams for a spin in a training game.

The Spaniard is temporarily back in his homeland, having signed for United from Barcelona in 2020.

Jurado has been in good form for United’s under-21 side this season, while Williams is just working his way back from injury

Anthony Martial is smiling

Anthony Martial was wearing his trademark gloves in the Spanish rain, and had a big smile on his face.

He had good reason to, apart from simply being fit again. Monday was Anthony Martial’s 27th birthday.

He may be missing out on the World Cup, but United’s staff are clearly doing something right. To see Martial happy and grinning is ominous news for the rest of the Premier League.

Zidane Iqbal embraces the rain

There was no winter sun on show in Jerez, with Anthony Elanga wrapping up warm in a long sleeve training top, tracksuit bottoms and a hat.

Zidane Iqbal had none of that, wearing shorts and T-shirt in the rain as he got stuck into Elanga with a tackle.

Little things like this will endear Iqbal to the coaching staff as he pushes to earn a spot in the side. The young midfielder has a very real shot of being selected for the upcoming Carabao Cup match so needs to seize this opportunity.

Van de Beek means business

One player who has to make this chance count is Donny van de Beek, after Erik ten Hag warned in November that his future could lie away from the club.

The Dutchman was pictured fully focused as he took on a routine running drill, with a steely look of determination on his face.

This is a chance for Van de Beek to reset, and as one of the few senior players Ten Hag will be looking for him to set an example to the rest of the group. He looks to be taking it very seriously.
