With the season drawing to a close, inevitably it is time to begin speculation over who Manchester United will sign this summer.
With more names flying round every day, it is hard to predict how Erik ten Hag‘s side will line up in August. However, it is always fun to speculate.
So here are the four signings Manchester United should make, in order to win the Premier League next season.
Diogo Costa

The most glaring issue in this Manchester United side is the goalkeeper. David de Gea doesn’t offer what Ten Hag requires from a keeper and has continually disappointed this season.
With the Spaniard’s contract expiring, there is no better time to look for a replacement. So for United’s new number one they should look no further than Portugal’s Diogo Costa.
Costa is a modern goalkeeper and offers every quality needed in a keeper, and at only 23 he is bound to improve. He also ranks incredibly high among his peers in; distribution, sweeping, stopping crosses and also saves.
Costa would also allow Ten Hag to move toward a style of play he is more accustomed to, with a heavy emphasis on possession.
With a release clause of £65m, he would represent a significant outlet, however no doubt he would be worth it.

Jurrien Timber

The next signing could be the most underrated of the window if it comes off. Jurrien Timber is a fantastic footballer and also is one of Ten Hag’s guys.
Timber would be an incredible option to have in the defensive ranks, capable of playing at both right-back and centre-back. If United do intend on becoming more of a possession side, Timber is ideal to slot in as an inverted full-back, adding a body in midfield.
Timber nearly joined United last summer however promised to stay one more year at Ajax. Ten Hag was desperate to sign him, so it wouldn’t be a shock to see another swoop attempt for the Dutch defender.
A wonderful footballer who would raise the technical bar of the squad just as Lisandro Martinez did. Timber has also previously mentioned his eagerness to reunite with Martinez too.
He would therefore be a wonderful signing for United.
Mason Mount

Mason Mount has been linked heavily with a move to Manchester over the past week. The links being so strong that it seems inevitable that the Englishman joins.
There has been much intrigue as to where he fits in at Old Trafford but it appears quite clear. Mount is misunderstood as a footballer, many paint him as an attacking midfielder but his qualities much rather suit the position of an eight.
His stand out attributes are his pass completion and progressive passing, something United require from their midfielder.
If he does arrive for the quoted £55m he won’t be on the bench. Therefore it could be expected United field more of a 4-3-3, with Bruno Fernandes and Mount either side of Casemiro.
Mount would be a top signing, especially if Ten Hag can get him back to his best.
Harry Kane

Harry Kane‘s record speaks for itself, 211 Premier League goals as he closes in on the record.
Furthermore he is a three time golden boot winner, scoring above 20 goals in six of his nine starting seasons at Tottenham.
It is hard to imagine therefore a scenario where Kane fails to grab at least 25 for United.
Kane would definitely bring a clinical edge to United’s occasionally toothless attack. The Red Devils regularly under perform their xG and a top striker like Kane would rectify that issue overnight.
Englands record scorer would be an instant starter for the club elevating all those around him, particularly the likes of Marcus Rashford and Antony.
Kane is the obvious choice for United, a match made in heaven with both parties desperate for silverware.
2023/24 possible line-up: Costa; Timber, Varane, Martinez, Shaw; Mount, Casemiro, Bruno; Antony, Kane, Rashford.
