Four Manchester United players have been named in the WhoScored team of the week following the club’s 3-0 win against Everton at Goodison Park.
Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United ran out comfortable winners in the end in Merseyside and the team were on top throughout the second half after a tough first 45 minutes of the game.
The win keeps United within touching distance of the top four and they have gained ground on the teams ahead of them after Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur all dropped points.
As a result of the comfortable victory against The Toffees, United have four players featured in the WhoScored Team Of The Week, but Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho are not one of these.
Team of the week award
Andre Onana, Diogo Dalot, Bruno Fernandes and Anthony Martial were named in the award which comes as a big surprise following Mainoo’s dominant performance in the middle of the park.
Onana was superb between the sticks for the Red Devils and showed his quality with a few outstanding saves and punched the ball through the lines to the midfielders multiple times.
Dalot may well be the most bizarre inclusion in the weekly award. The Portuguese right-back provided the assist for Garnacho’s stunning goal but the cross seemed to be a hopeful one rather than a pinpoint pick out in the penalty box.
Fernandes looked a bit lost in the first half but the United captain stepped up in the second half and provided the assist for Martial’s delightful finish.
The French forward showed his quality and reiterated why he can be a crucial cog in the United team, as long as he keeps fit for the Red Devils.

United’s key players
Onana is becoming one of United’s most important players but the Cameroon international is not getting the credit he deserves for his performances.
As for Fernandes, the Portuguese midfielder would be one of the first people to admit his performances have not been good enough this season but his showing in Merseyside was the club captain’s best of the campaign so far.
United need these players in what is set to be a tough month of fixtures before the January transfer window opens.
