Manchester United take on Cadiz tomorrow night in the first of two friendlies that Erik ten Hag‘s side will play against La Liga opponents in Spain.

Following United’s clash against Cadiz who sit 19th in the Spanish top-flight, the twenty-time league champions will face Manuel Pellegrini’s Real Betis on Saturday evening.

The friendly against Cadiz will be the Red Devils’ first match since Alejandro Garnacho scored a dramatic injury time winner against Fulham on November 13.

Ahead of taking on Cadiz at the Nuevo Mirandilla, United in Focus have picked out four former Premier League players who play for Cadiz.

The 33-year-old centre-back played nine times for Leicester City during the 2016-17 campaign – the year after the Foxes shocked the world and won the Premier League title.

The former Spain Under-19 international made his debut for the King Power Stadium side against the Red Devils in the Community Shield.

Despite only being in England for little over six months, Hernandez moved back to Spain during the 2017 January transfer window with Malaga.

The fellow former Spain Under-19 international was signed by former Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer during the Norwegian’s time in charge of Cardiff City.

Following his move to the Bluebirds from Sevilla in February 2014, scored two goals in seven Premier League games under Solskjaer, but he couldn’t prevent the Welsh side from getting relegated.

After a year at the Cardiff City Stadium, the 33-year-old returned to his homeland via a move to Granada.

Lucas Perez

Arsenal triggered Perez’s £17.1m release clause in August 2016 after the pacey forward had scored 17 goals and laid on 10 assists from 36 games for Deportivo La Coruna the season prior in La Liga.

But Perez struggled to establish himself as regular with the Gunners, and he made just two Premier League starts before joining West Ham United on a permanent deal having spent the 2017-18 season on loan with former club Deportivo.

Perez scored seven goals from 21 games for Arsenal and netted six times in 19 appearances for the Hammers.

The 37-year-old secured a big money move to Manchester City from Sevilla in 2013 and scored 23 goals and laid on eight assists from 49 matches in his first season in England.

But after struggling with homesickness and recovering from a shoulder injury, the former Spain international moved to Valencia on an initial loan deal, which was later made permanent.

Negredo would return to the Premier League after spending the 2016-17 campaign on loan at Middlesbrough.

Cadiz’s number 18 has faced the Red Devils four times during his career, and he has three assists to his name from those outings.
