Former Manchester United wonderkid Adnan Januzaj signs for new club

Adnan Januzaj broke into the Manchester United team under David Moyes but failed to establish himself long-term, and now has a new club.

In an aging team which really struggled with the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson, the Belgian offered fearlessness and trickery.

He netted twice against Sunderland, who he also went on to play for under Moyes, in October 2013, but failed to convince Louis van Gaal.

The Dutchman loaned him to Borussia Dortmund before Sunderland and then Jose Mourinho sold him to Real Sociedad in 2017.

Adnan Januzaj signs with new club

Januzaj has failed to really make good on his early potential, although he has played at the World Cup for his country, scoring against England in 2018.

He then moved to Sevilla last year, and now has a new club, moving to Istanbul Basaksehir on loan until the end of the season, as per the Daily Mail.

That name may be familiar to United fans, as we faced them in the Champions League group stage in the 2020/21 season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Turkish outfit caused a shock, winning 2-1 on a night when United were caught cold by a counter-attack from a corner, with Demba Ba scoring.

He is still only 27 and in theory, that means his prime is still ahead of him, if he can find some form and consistency from here.

Some United fans may keep an eye on his development and he will garner more interest if he does what Wout Weghorst did and got his career back on track in Turkey.

The Dutchman has been doing a good job at United so far, showing that a move to Turkey need not be a graveyard for a career.
