Former Manchester United starlet Largie Ramazani scores against Real Madrid on La Liga debut

Former Manchester United starlet Largie Ramazani scored against reigning Champions League holders Real Madrid on his La Liga debut.

The 21-year-old Belgian shocked Carlo Ancelotti’s Los Blancos by giving newly-promoted Almeria the lead at the Power Horse Stadium in the sixth minute.

Ramazani ghosted in-behind former Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger and clinically slotted the ball passed his compatriot Thibaut Courtois.

However, Rubi’s Almeria side couldn’t hold on and shock the reigning La Liga champions as Lucas Vazquez and David Alaba completed the comeback in the second half to clinch an opening day 2-1 win.

Having joined the Red Devils from Charlton Athletic in the summer of 2017, Ramazani played 49 times for the United youth sides, scoring 15 goals and providing ten assists.

He made one appearance for the Manchester United first team and that was a six-minute cameo off the bench in the Europa League against Kazakhstan side Astana three years ago.

Like fellow United prospect Angel Gomes, Ramazani opted against extending his stay at Old Trafford to pursue first team football elsewhere.

From 63 appearances for Almeria, the former Belgium Under-19 international has scored 15 goals.

Fellow former Manchester United talent Arnau Puigmal came off the bench against Real Madrid in the 81st minute to also make his La Liga debut.

Almeria’s third former United youngster Martin Svidersky wasn’t part of the matchday squad against the European and Spanish giants.

After a dazzling start to life in La Liga, Ramazani will be hoping his goal against the Champions of Europe is one of may goals in what could be a fruitful campaign for United’s former wonderkid.
