Former Manchester United youngster Dillon Hoogewerf has begun a new chapter in his career.
Manchester United infamously signed Dillon Hoogewerf from Ajax’s academy ahead of doing a deal for a teenage Benjamin Sesko.
In 2025 United paid £66 million to sign Benjamin Sesko permanently, with Hoogewerf no longer on the club’s books.
Hoogewerf was allowed to leave and join German side Borussia Moenchengladbach in early 2022. It was an abrupt end to his United spell, where he showed promise with 21 goals for the academy sides.
His stint in Germany went poorly, and after finally impressing for Dutch side Vitesse, he has now switched clubs again.

Hoogewerf signs for Grenoble
Dillon Hoogewerf has been presented as a new player for French Ligue 2 side Grenoble Club 38.
The side finished in 12th place last season and have made Hoogewerf a priority signing as they look to strengthen.
The club’s announcement noted how Hoogewerf developed his career at Manchester United, along with his achievements for Vitesse.
The 23-year-old has signed on a free transfer after his contract with Dutch side Vitesse expired.
The move is a good chance for Hoogewerf to play regularly and continue the momentum he has built in the Netherlands.

Hoogewerf is now a professional player
Dillon Hoogewerf was an academy player at Manchester United and he had the same role at Moenchengladbach, where he was assigned to their under-19s team.
He left both clubs without making a professional appearance, before finally making his competitive debut in August 2024 for Vitesse.
Since then he has played 60 games, accruing more than 3,600 minutes, scoring nine goals and providing four assists.
He was recently praised by Vitesse’s manager for his commitment to the team.
But now his career is taking on a new chapter, and we wish him the best of luck.
