Brandon Williams has been given a career lifeline by going on trial at Hull City.
Once upon a time, there were high hopes for Brandon Williams at Manchester United.
Like several former Manchester United academy talents, Williams found himself without a club ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. Five former United youth players began 2025 as free agents, with Josh Harrop turning to the Baller League to make something of his career.
Timothy Fosu-Mensah is looking for a new club, while Williams has been given an opportunity to prove his worth at a decent level.
Hull City have taken Williams on trial to see if he can make the grade to earn a permanent deal at the Championship club.
United released Williams at the end of his contract in 2024.
Williams spent the 2024/25 season without a club and worked on himself. Now, he is ready to return to football.

Brandon Williams makes first appearance in 578 days
Even when things don’t work out for players at Old Trafford, United fans tend to wish everyone the best in the future.
It’s a shame to see Williams and others struggle to find new clubs, but there is reason to be optimistic that things will turn around for the better.
Williams made his first appearance in 578 days, which was a competitive outing on loan at Ipswich Town, returning to action on Tuesday for Hull City.
The 24-year-old came on for 15 minutes for the Championship outfit in a trial appearance.
Williams took to Instagram after the game, sharing a positive reaction to make his progress.
He wrote: “20 long hard-working months, it does pay off.
“Back in love, back in fire, back with determination.”
Hopefully, Williams can impress and earn a permanent move to Hull City ahead of the new season. He is too good a player to throw his career away without a fight.
Williams will need time to reach full match fitness and sharpness. Hull City have a big decision to make, but could get a talented player for free.
Williams looking to prove a point at Hull City
The social media post from Williams suggests he has fire in his belly upon returning to football.
Like any player would be, Williams is happy to be back on the pitch doing what he does best.
It’s been a long wait and it’s clear he has a point to prove at Hull City.
Speaking to the Daily Mail recently, Williams revealed that he is now focused on his football.
“It hurts me watching football now because I just want to be there, I just want to play. I miss being in a team, on the coach, travelling to games, having meals together and just doing things,” Williams said.
“I want to have that feeling again of winning and being around the changing room environment.”
