Manchester United slipped to an agonising late defeat to Brighton last night in the Premier League.

Brighton will feel they deserved all three points after a strong second half display, while Manchester United probably would have been content to leave with a hard fought point.
It wasn’t a great night for United, but there is one played who can hold his head high; Bruno Fernandes.

Manchester United’s captain set a positive example with his own performance and should have left the pitch reflecting on an improved assist tally, with 15 already this season.
Unfortunately his teammates could not take full advantage of his creative efforts, either missing the target or being denied by goalkeeper Jason Steele.
Bruno Fernandes created five goalscoring chances in this game. Against Aston Villa he created only one opportunity (although did score).
Fernandes made his key passes from limited possession, 63 touches in total and 38 passes completed from 47 attempts (81 per cent).
He had two attempts at goal himself, one of which was on target late in the second half as he tried to force the issue.
United were better in the first half before fading in the second, and ultimately paid the price for failing to take advantage of the chances Fernandes created.
No player on the pitch created more chances than Fernandes, who also won five duels from eight contested.
If he keeps on playing like this, United should fancy their chances of picking up a couple of wins from the next two games against West Ham and then Wolves.
