FIFA 23: Casemiro ranks as Premier League's strongest player

FIFA 23 is out now and summer Manchester United signing Casemiro has been named as the Premier League’s strongest player on the game.

Casemiro has been ranked ahead of the likes of Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and has been handed physical stats of 90.

The pair could of course come up against each other in tomorrow’s Manchester derby, as they look to make their first appearance in the fixture.

Casemiro has struggled to dislodge Scott McTominay in the United midfield thus far with the increased competition for places clearly raising the Scotland international’s game.

Casemiro named Premier League’s strongest player on FIFA 23

He came to United without having a pre-season with his new teammates and he is seemingly still getting up to speed at Old Trafford.

The Brazilian will show what he is capable of in due course but Erik ten Hag has been patient with his new anchorman so far.

The FIFA ratings are by no means gospel, but they do offer an insight into the characteristics that Casemiro can offer the United midfield.

He brings the experience of winning the Champions League with Real Madrid and is a fixture with Brazil, looking to win the World Cup in the summer.

United of course spent plenty of time trying to sign Frenkie de Jong over the course of the summer, but that pursuit did not end in success.

They switched attention to Casemiro and got that deal done far more quickly, with the Brazilian keen to embark on a new challenge in English football.

United fans using their team on the new game will have the benefit of an elite holding midfielder to complement the attacking talent on offer.

It remains to be seen if Casemiro will get the nod to start at the Etihad Stadium as United finally return to action after the extended break from fixtures.
