Feyenoord working to arrange send-off for Manchester United summer signing Tyrell Malacia

Eredivisie giants Feyenoord are working to arrange a send-off for Manchester United summer signing Tyrell Malacia.

The 23-year-old, who came through the academy at the Rotterdam-based club, joined the Red Devils in July and was Erik ten Hag’s first Manchester United signing.

The six-time Netherlands international was signed to provide quality competition to Luke Shaw and the former Southampton youngster has certainly benefitted from Malacia’s arrival at Old Trafford.

United’s number 12 has made twelve appearances for the twenty-time league champions, ten of which have been starts.

The tenacious and pacey left-back will be hoping to maintain his record of starting in every Europa League game since making the switch to Old Trafford when the Reds face Real Sociedad in San Sebastian tomorrow evening.

Feyenoord working to arrange send-off for Tyrell Malacia

Malacia made 136 first team appearances for Feyenoord having come through the youth ranks and he won two trophies with his boyhood club.

He was a vital part of the Feyenoord side that reached the inaugural UEFA Conference League final, but in his last game for the club, Jose Mourinho’s side beat Feyenoord in the final.

Feyenoord are set to say goodbye to two of Malacia’s former teammates Marcos Senesi and Luis Sinisterra, who also secured summer moves to the Premier League, prior to their last league match of 2022.

Argentine Senesi joined promoted side Bournemouth whereas Colombian Sinisterra joined United’s fierce rivals Leeds.

The South American duo’s send-off will take place on 13 November shortly before Feyenoord’s home against Excelsior, which is the day Manchester United travel to Fulham to play our last match before the domestic season pauses for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

With Malacia not able to attend alongside Senesi and Sinisterra, Feyenoord wrote on their club website: “At the moment, a date is still being sought to also wave Tyrell Malacia off in De Kuip.”
