Andre Onana has finally officially signed for Manchester United as revealed by the club earlier today, singing a five year deal.
The Cameroonian international is an incoming which has been on the tips of fans’ tongues for weeks with negotiations last weeks.
Finally however Erik ten Hag has got his man, signing the same goalkeeper he managed for his successes in Amsterdam.
A sigh of relief for many as the finalisation means that United will tour the USA with a starting goalkeeper and it will give Onana time to acclimatise to his teammates.
After 12 years of David de Gea, finally United have a goalkeeper befitting of the possession and attack heavy team fans have craved.
Rio Ferdinand took to YouTube to react to the news, praising De Gea for his tenure, but also expressing pure excitement at the arrival of Onana.

Ferdinand reacts
Ferdinand couldn’t contain his excitement when speaking on his FIVE YouTube channel.
“Fantastic player” Rio exclaimed near the beginning, as he went on to describe the reasons for his excitement.
MORE UNITED STORIES
The Old Trafford Icon expressed that Pep Guardiola is the man who perfectly epitomised Onana, as he spoke of the danger United’s new £43.9million man poses
“There is no higher praise,” Rio explained, “than when you ask a manager what’s the threat, what’s the dangers that this team gives your team… and he names a goalkeeper.”
He went on to describe that Onana will give Ten Hag, an “extra man, extra defender” in possession and would create a “conundrum for the other team.”
Onana is the new era
Many believed that the Ten Hag era began last year, but it is clear that De Gea’s deficiencies in possession prohibited that.
This all changes from now, the arrival of Onana will raise everyones levels and signals the real beginning of this new era at Old Trafford.
It remains to be seen if he will be able to feature on Saturday night against Arsenal, but the new era has arrived and we can’t wait.
