Former Manchester United player Charlie Savage had a night to remember last night as he made his international debut.
Savage completed the full 90 minutes as Wales beat Gibraltar 4-0 friendly win at Wrexham’s ground, The Racecourse.
He also registered an assist for the second, with his cross finding Kieffer Moore’s head who dispatched with aplomb with a looping finish.
The 20-year-old said it was ‘a dream come true‘. Fans were also particularly impressed and were all saying the same thing following his immense debut performance.

Fans are all saying the same thing about Charlie Savage
Fans were making notes on social media throughout the game, with a recurring comment cropping up which all said that Savage is already better than his old man!
“Think Charlie Savage will be surpassing his old man’s 39 caps quite comfortably. Lads a baller,” a first wrote.
Another adds: “Charlie Savage has made more forward passes In this game than his dad ever did for Wales.”
“Charlie Savage already looking a better player than his dad” and “Charlie Savage is better than Robbie Savage ever was,” were also put out.
The proof is in the pudding. It took Charlie just 26 minutes into his international career to get his first goal involvement. It took his dad Robbie 6 games to get his first (goal vs Turkey).
Were United wrong to sell him?
Unlike most sales at Manchester United, Savage’s departure was more of his own accord.
The young midfielder knew chances were going to be few and far between for game time at United, so decided to seek first-team football elsewhere.
He has done just that. He’s a regular for Reading and has one goal so far for them in 12 games. His highlight of the campaign will no doubt be his international fixture, however.
We think he made the right choice as he never would’ve really cut it at United.
We wish Charlie all the best in the future and it’s great to see him thriving away from Old Trafford.
