Frank Lampard senses fan favourite Donny van de Beek is “loving” being at Everton and playing regular football once again.
The Manchester United loanee has started the last three Premier League games after coming off the bench to make his Toffees debut in the 3-1 defeat to Newcastle.
It’s the first time the 24-year-old has made three consecutive starts in English football since joining the Reds from Ajax for a £35m (BBC Sport) fee in September 2020.
After Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Michael Carrick and Ralf Rangnick opted against giving the Dutch international a Premier League start between them this season for the Red Devils, van de Beek looks rejuvenated, getting regular minutes on Merseyside.

Lampard believes Everton’s new number 30 is “loving” his new surroundings and his energetic all-action displays have quickly endeared him to the Goodison Park faithful.
Speaking via the club’s website, Lampard said: “He is loving being here, you can sense that. He’s loving his teammates and they’ve really taken to him. He is a really intelligent player and works hard – the fans love him for that – so let’s hope he’s alright.”
United’s number 34 was taken off against Manchester City in the 71st minute when the deadlock hadn’t been broken.
Van de Beek signalled to the bench he couldn’t continue, but Lampard is hopeful that it wasn’t anything more than cramp after getting next to no game time at Old Trafford.

Lampard said: “We’re hoping it’s cramp. It doesn’t look too bad. If it is cramp, it’s no wonder, because he hadn’t been playing too regularly and it was a big physical output game for a midfield player. He played very well again.”
Van de Beek is seemingly loving his football once again and is enjoying being given the opportunity to rebuild his career.
If Lampard manages to keep Everton in the Premier League which he should, then a conversation may be had regarding the possibility of signing van de Beek on a permanent deal.
That may marry up with the Dutchman’s desires because according to the Mirror, Donny van de Beek is hoping to join the Blue half of Merseyside on a permanent basis in the summer.
