Joshua Zirkzee was a Bayern Munich player long before he impressed Manchester United, now a fan asked him to convince one player to join him.

Manchester United fans often get the chance to meet and receive signatures from various players outside of Carrington.

With the majority of the squad out in the US, fans still waited outside of the training ground and were rewarded with Joshua Zirkzee stopping.

The newly arrived Dutchman was videoed signing things for a fan before being asked to do one interesting thing.

His response could be very interesting if true.

Joshua Zirkzee says he’s tried to bring Musiala to Manchester United

Now in training at Carrington, Zirkzee will be eagerly anticipating the arrival of his new teammates next week.

On Monday, as he either left or arrived he stopped to sign things and take pictures with fans and one of these fans asked him an interesting question.

Zirkzee was asked whether or not he could ask Bayern Munich’s Musiala to come to United, to this the Dutchman instantly replied.

He said: “I’ve tried… I’ve tried.”

This could just be a bit of tongue and cheek, but if agent Zirkzee can lure Musiala, it could be as interesting indeed as he’d be a superb signing, although it is very unlikely right now.

It’d tough to imagine United managing to lure Musiala away from Bayern, but if he was available Ineos would definitely be front of the queue as it’d be ideal to replace Bruno Fernandes long-term.

Zirkzee and Musiala are known to be close, even holidaying together prior to the United forward starting pre-season.

Manchester United had the chance to sign Musiala

While Musiala is now a household name, worth a whopping £88m at the very least – according to CIES – there was a time he wasn’t, and United had the chance to sign him.

This came when Musiala was a U16, after he departed Chelsea there was a chance he’d have headed to United only for the club to reject making a move after having him on trial.

The reasoning was that United’s hierarchy decided not to enter the running as they were concerned about the risks of doing so within the regulations – but for a player this good, the rules should have been tested.

Maybe with Zirkzee, United will one summer have another crack at signing Musiala now that he’s a world-beater.
