The first Manchester derby of the season is nearly upon us. We sincerely hope it’s Manchester United who come out on top.
But given the way the season has gone so far, it’s a slight worry. Erik ten Hag‘s side have not been performing well.
Pep Guardiola’s on the other hand, look rampant as ever. They will definitely be up to the task. That means United players need to get fired up.
One that has already begun with the trash-talking appears to be Facundo Pellistri, who has thrown some serious shade on City ahead of the important Premier League fixture.

Facundo Pellistri throws shade at Man City
Speaking on a Uruguayan radio station, Carve Deportiva, Pellistri spoke about Manchester’s divide in terms of fans.
“Manchester is all about United,” Pellistri began. “You don’t see City shirts or flags.
“Sometimes, with my girlfriend, we go out and say let’s try to find one and we don’t see them.”
Brilliant. United fans have always thought they rule Manchester, but it’s nice to also hear it come out of a player’s mouth for once.
Pellistri and United have been training hard
The 21-year-old also talked about the preparation he and the side have been putting in ahead of the all-important clash.
“Yesterday was a very hard day of training. We did it for 2 and a half hours on the court. So today, when we have free, everything hurts. You don’t really want to do something.
“Today we had free. We start preparing the classic that is on Sunday. It’s going to be special to play it at Old Trafford.”
It remains to be seen whether Pellistri will feature. The Uruguayan hasn’t featured for United since the 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.
He definitely has fantastic attributes, but to be thrown into the deep end once again in a derby may be too much for him. Let’s see what Ten Hag does.
