Manchester United forward Facundo Pellistri was full of praise for Marcelo Bielsa as Uruguay beat Brazil for the first time in 22 years.
The former Leeds United boss has revolutionised the way the South American side have played and this has culminated in their magnificent 2-0 victory over Brazil.
Uruguay had been unable to beat Brazil since 2001 and goals from Darwin Nunez and Marcelo De La Cruz were enough to defeat Casemiro’s Brazil.
Facundo Pellistri, the Manchester United winger, has given his thoughts on the victory and the impact that the former Leeds United boss has had on the young side.

Pellistri on Uruguay’s victory
Speaking to ESPN Deportes, the United winger, who has featured heavily for Erik ten Hag’s side in the absence of Jadon Sancho and Antony, was elated with the win.
“The keys were intensity, not letting the Brazilian players be comfortable and hurting them every time we have transitions, that was a bit of what we did. and that’s why we won the game,” Pellistri said.
“We were motivated to break that streak, we knew we could do it. It broke, so it’s an incredible day, we’re very happy and we really enjoyed it.
“We are a young group and we are very excited. I have felt very good (with Marcelo Bielsa), what is most visible is the intensity, and we are happy for these types of games, which are the ones that one always dreams of playing with the national team.”
Pellistri’s United form
In the games that the young winger has featured in he has looked dangerous on that right-hand side and will perhaps feel unfortunate to not feature more after the international break.
Darwin Nunez, of Liverpool, has seemingly blossomed under Marcelo Bielsa and has carried that good form with him to his club, with three goals and two assists this season.
The hope will be that Bielsa will have a similar effect on Pellistri once United return this weekend.
