Facundo Pellistri is set to be given a new deal at Manchester United which will keep him at the club until 2028.
The Uruguayan winger has only featured eight times this season for the Red Devils. But it appears Erik ten Hag believes the young man has a future at Old Trafford.
United paid a grand total of £9 million for Pellistri back in 2020, signing the then 18-year-old from Club Atletico Penarol on a five-year contract.
Now it looks like he’ll be extending his stay. More on this below.

Facundo Pellistri rumoured to be given a contract extension
Reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano took to his YouTube channel to give an update on United’s plans for Pellistri.
Erik ten Hag is said to be “really happy” with the 21-year-old. He also says that loan offers from Bologna, Flamengo, and a plethora of Spanish clubs were all rejected due to impressing in training.
“I can tell you that in terms of news, Manchester United are in advanced talks to extend the contract of Facundo Pellistri until June 2028.

“So they want to give him a new long-term deal and then discuss in the summer a potential loan move for Pellistri because this could be an opportunity for him to play. But the priority is to extend the contract.”
He has looked tidy in the games he’s featured in. However, with Amad Diallo returning – can Pellistri breakthrough into a regular starter?
A loan move is probably the right option for him. Hopefully, he can follow the recent path of Amad, go away and smash it, coming back stronger and hungrier.
