Former Manchester United player David May has gave his verdict ahead of Sunday’s Manchester Derby.
Manchester United can redeem an awful start to the season on Sunday with a win over City.
Neither side have been at their best through the opening months of the season, but recently United have given fans reasons to be positive.
However despite this, the harsh reality for Erik ten Hag is that City are levels above at the moment with just one United player getting in our combined XI.
Despite this, former league winner with United, David May thinks United can get something from the game.

Speaking on the No Tippy Tippy Football podcast, May gave his views on the upcoming derby.
“The best chance of winning, is this next derby with the players coming back and City aren’t playing at 100% themselves.
“I think United will play counter-attack, they have to.
“It’s how we defend as a squad, from the front, it has to be from the front, which will determine how the game goes. I’d take a draw all day, I would.
“Hand on heart, obviously I want United to win but it’s so difficult if City turn up.”

May is no stranger to the Manchester Derby being a former United defender and faced City five times in his career.
According to TransferMarkt, he was used to being successful against them too, winning all five.
Obviously this is a different time and City now are a very different prospect than they were back in the 90s.
