Ethan Laird has praised his Manchester United teammate Anthony Elanga the for impact he has made at his parent club.
Taking part in a Q&A on Bournemouth’s Instagram page, Laird was asked several different questions which touched on his start to life on the south coast and his thoughts on United’s new star Elanga.
The full-back finally made his Cherries debut on Saturday after enduring a frustrating period on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
The 20-year-old was signed by Scott Parker’s side on loan until the end of the season in January, but he suffered injury setbacks which meant his debut was delayed.

But the Manchester United academy graduate is hoping his injury struggles are behind him and he’s loving his time at the promotion chasers.
Laird said: “I’m loving every moment. The people here have been brilliant with me, the coaches, the staff – just the fans as well to be honest – I just cannot wait to get a run of games obviously it’s been hard at the start, but now I’ve made my debut and I want to carry on from there.
“They [teammates] have been very welcoming and now that I am back training and amongst them a lot more – the vibes are very good in training.
“He [Scott Parker] drives high, high standards and it shows when we play games because we are always out running teams, we have attention to detail and the work rate is so important and it shows.”

While Laird is targeting promotion to the Premier League with the Cherries, Elanga, who he played with 13 times in the United academy sides has more than grasped his opportunity under interim boss Ralf Rangnick.
Speaking on Elanga’s emergence, Laird said: “I think he is showing [how good he is] right now. ‘I’m shouting out my boys right now aren’t I’. He’s top, he’s showing it and I think everybody knows he’s been like this since day one.”

Bournemouth’s number three will be hoping to follow in Elanga’s footsteps and build on the two Europa League appearances he has made for the Manchester United first team.
The Reds technical director Darren Fletcher has already revealed that Laird will be brought back in pre-season to see how he ‘fares’ against the first-team players.
Laird and the club’s other talented youngsters who are currently out on loan will be looking to impress the club’s new permanent manager and will likely use Elanga’s own rise to prominence as inspiration and motivation.
