ESPN make Manchester United and Brandon Williams claim

According to ESPN, Manchester United are unhappy with Brandon Williams’ Instagram comments after Manchester City won the Champions League final on Saturday night.

Brandon Williams took a potshot at City’s achievements, noting that United did it first, back in 1999. He wrote on Instagram stories: “Nobody wants a sloppy seconds,” with three Red Devil emojis.

He also then had a dig at Rio Ferdinand, stating that he was in the wrong for how he was congratulating City players following their historic victory.

The club have now responded to the academy graduate’s actions and they aren’t happy – ESPN claim.

Manchester United unhappy with Brandon Williams

According to ESPN, Manchester United have distanced themselves from comments made by Williams in the aftermath of Manchester City’s treble.

United are disappointed with Williams’ posts with one source telling the outlet that his comments are “not welcomed.”

From a professional perspective, we completely understand why the club will be unhappy with Williams’ comments. As a United player, you are also representing them in all aspects of life. This is a job after all and professionalism is something you simply have to adhere to.

However, from a fan’s perspective, it’s difficult to disagree with what Williams has said. He’s clearly a passionate fan of the club alongside a player and, like so many United fans on Saturday, were simply distraught to see City emerge victorious in Istanbul.

We can personally see both sides of the coin here. Luckily, it probably won’t affect Williams’ career at United. We didn’t see him having a future at the club anyway with competent options like Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw to compete with.

One thing is for certain after this. Brandon Williams now has a lot more respect from United fans.
