Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag says he cannot say whether Harry Maguire will return against Aston Villa.
Harry Maguire was a surprise absentee from Manchester United’s squad against Tottenham Hotspur.
The club captain was not even on the bench, after picking up a minor injury in training.
While not thought to be serious, Erik ten Hag is still uncertain if Maguire will be ready to face Aston Villa on Sunday.

Ten Hag responds over Maguire
Erik ten Hag told Manchester United’s club media that he could not guarantee the defender will return in time for Sunday’s game.
He explained: “In this moment, I can’t say anything about that. We have to wait, to talk with the medical and to talk with Harry. We will see.”
Maguire had sustained an injury on the training ground in midweek.
Ten Hag backed his team to cope without Maguire pre-game, telling MUTV: “We have proved we can sort it out. And I’m convinced we can do it today as well.”
Luke Shaw filled in well once again, but United did allow a two goal lead to slip and drew 2-2.
Fatigue may have been a factor, and this is one reason why it would be good to get Maguire back, because he will be fresh.
But if he isn’t 100 per cent, United shouldn’t rush him. Aston Villa are in really strong form under Unai Emery, and whoever is selected, will need to be really sharp over 90 minutes to get a result.
