Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was very impressed with Alejandro Garnacho‘s substitute performance last night.
Garnacho came off the bench to help United turn around a game they were trailing, to go on and clinch a 4-2 win.
The Argentine teenager played a key role, providing two assists, and providing a constant threat for Aston Villa whenever he got on the ball.
Ten Hag has high hopes for Garnacho, while warning him to keep his focus.

Quoted after the game by ESPN: “When he keeps working, keeps this attitude, then anything is possible.
“If he keeps his attitude and wants to improve every day, when he is doing the right things in his lifestyle, it is possible.
“You can see he has capabilities and can contribute to attacking football. Also he has something, he can break open a compact defending line. I think all teams that want to attack, that want to play in opponents’ half, they need players like that.
“He can out-play them and also in the final decisions he can do the right things. Once again, it depends on his attitude.”
What we have seen of Garnacho’s transition into the first team so far, suggests he has the ability to succeed.
He plays with the same fearless attributes he did at youth team level, with a desire to take players on, shoot, and create.
As Ten Hag notes, his ability to stretch defences and break lines is a valuable commodity, and he is becoming a very useful player for his manager.
While his opportunity has been enhanced by Jadon Sancho’s illness, Garnacho has actually looked sharper than the Englishman, he’s more direct, and at the moment, he’s the one fans would rather see.
