Erik ten Hag has pinpointed the areas where he believes Manchester United can improve after beating Crystal Palace 3-1.

The Red Devils made it three wins out of three under the Dutchman with yet another wonderful display of attacking football.

United have now scored 11 goals in three games under the former Ajax boss and the Reds scored some wonderful team goals against Patrick Vieira’s Eagles.

But speaking after the game, United’s fifth permanent manager since Sir Alex Ferguson retired was keen to focus on where his side can continue to make further improvements.

When asked by club legend Bryan Robson on MUTV where United can improve, Ten Hag said: “The timing and when we start to press, I still see situations that we can avoid and we can prepare a better press.

“I also think we can improve on the ball. We did play well but you can see when it’s 2 or 3-0 that the belief is increasing.

“On the ball we can delay and postpone to invite opponents to come out and then we speed it up like we did for 2-0 which was a great goal.”

The blueprint of Ten Hag’s style of play has been clear to see during our pre-season tour but instead of resting on his laurels and praising United’s stars who underperformed all too often last season, our new boss wants to keep them grounded.

With Ten Hag identifying where we can improve in and out of possession, it’s encouraging to know that there remains plenty of scope for further improvements.

The manager will be hard at work on targeting further improvements ahead of us facing Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa in Perth on Saturday.
