Manchester United and Erik ten Hag may have just found his own Park Ji-Sung for Manchester United.

Park Ji-Sung will forever go down as a cult hero for Manchester United. The South Korean midfielder was a United player under Sir Alex Ferguson renowned for his incredible work rate.

Often recalled on as ‘Three Lung Park’, despite not being the most technically gifted, Park was one of United’s most crucial players in a squad of superstars. Why? He did the dirty work that allowed the others to play.

After the last couple of games – it could be apparent that Ten Hag has his own Park at Old Trafford in 2023.

Erik ten Hag may have a ‘Park Ji-Sung in Hannibal Mejbri

Given the past couple of fixtures, Hannibal Mejbri may be United’s ‘Park’ in 2023.

The Tunisian was granted another start against Crystal Palace, where he shone brightly. The young midfielder was all over the place, but the most impressive thing to surface had to be the statistics he accrued within the game.

According to Sky Sports, Hannibal ran 12.9 kilometres during Manchester United’s win over Burnley at the weekend. It is reported this is more than any Manchester United player has run in a game since 2019.

He’s just the player Ten Hag wants

Ten Hag has previously blasted players for not working hard enough this season. The likes of Scott McTominay and Marcus Rashford have both been scrutinized because of this.

Hannibal seems the perfect fit for Ten Hag. Young, hungry and full of energy. His performances against Brighton, Burnley and Palace will hopefully have earned him a start again on Saturday. Keep it up, Hannibal!
