Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag reportedly has plans to use Isak Hansen-Aaroen for pre-season.
Norwegian outlet United.no report Manchester United have told Norway’s FA that Isak Hansen-Aaroen will not be permitted to take part in the Under-19 European Championships.
Erik ten Hag is said to be driving the decision, with the report adding: “United and Erik ten Hag have put their foot down.”
The under-19 championships take place in July, and would clash with Manchester United’s pre-season plans.

Manchester United have seven pre-season friendlies scheduled, and there will be opportunities for young players to impress.
Isak Hansen-Aaroen started the winter friendly against Real Betis, and has trained with the first team.
The website report that the 18-year-old travelled with the Manchester United first team for the FA Cup final, and added: “United.no also knows that several people have been impressed by Hansen-Aarøen’s performances in first-team training.”
Hansen-Aaroen clinched his move to Manchester United in 2020, having already featured in Tromso’s first team at 15.
He turns 19 in August and is at a critical stage of his development, with under-21 football doing little for him.
Hansen-Aaroen likely needs a loan deal in 2023/24, and looks set to get a chance to impress in pre-season. Last year he also played the final pre-season game as a substitute against Rayo Vallecano.
The central midfielder was part of the FA Youth Cup winning side alongside Alejandro Garnacho, and was particularly impressive in the final.
While Manchester United continue to be linked with midfielders, Hansen-Aaroen, Kobbie Mainoo and Dan Gore are three very talented prospects coming through, who Erik ten Hag will be taking a close look at.
