Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has hit out at Sky Sports’ Jamie Redknapp following the draw with Crystal Palace.
Heading into Manchester United’s fixture with Crystal Palace, Erik ten Hag had a selection headache, one he welcomed.
Terrific performances from the attacking players over the past two games presented a real dilemma – only three of Amad, Joshua Zirkzee, Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho could be selected.
This time it was Marcus Rashford who was the odd man out, with a front three of Garnacho, Zirkzee and Amad chosen.

Jamie Redknapp’s wild claim
Everything with Manchester United is just ridiculously overblown, take the simplistic reaction to Rashford being left out.
Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp suggested there was something untoward gone on behind the scenes which lad left to Rashford being omitted.
“There’s obviously something that’s happened,” he said, without any justification.
It was a wild, and reductive claim, unable to see that this was quite simply a selection decision, and having absolutely no basis whatsoever behind such inflammatory claims.
Erik ten Hag was asked about this post-match and immediately hit out, labelling Redknapp’s claims as ‘crazy’.
He said: “I heard already speculation from pundits, it’s crazy, as a person you are not ok when you bring such speculation when you don’t know.
“It was just rotation. I am very happy with Marcus in everything he is doing.”
Redknapp should apologise
Manchester United have to deal with so much rubbish from the media, which just would not happen to other clubs.
Look at the disgraceful way Erik ten Hag was treated in the lead-up to the FA Cup Final, after winning it, when the likes of Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker asked him if he was about to be sacked.
Ten Hag is not afraid to call this out now, earlier criticising Alan Shearer’s comments about Marcus Rashford after the defeat to Brighton.
Redknapp’s words were dangerous, having the potential to create a hostile narrative around the player and manager.
United drew the game 0-0 and should have won it. Rashford came on in the second half but struggled to impact proceedings.
Ten Hag can be pleased with his players – but where Redknapp is concerned, the pundit should be apologising to him.
