Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has hailed Casemiro for the impact the Brazilian has made since joining the Red Devils.

Playing alongside his compatriot Fred, the Selecao pair dominated the midfield battle against Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur last night.

The Red Devils ran out comfortable 2-0 winners, and we’ve now picked up seven points from the three Premier League games the former Real Madrid man has started.

Manchester United has been crying out for a world-class out and out defensive midfielder ever since former captain Roy Keane departed the club.

There is arguably no better midfield enforcer in world football then the five-time Champions League winner, and his influence and importance in Ten Hag’s side looks to be growing with every passing appearance.

Ten Hag hails Casemiro

Former Manchester United centre-back Rio Ferdinand believes that the arrival of Casemiro has finally given the team balance, and has labelled him the difference maker in United’s upturn in form.

For years, the twenty-time league champions have lacked steel and bite in the middle of the park, but with the 30-year-old protecting our backline and breaking up play, while adding technical quality, United’s midfield is no longer a weakness.

After slowly being integrated into the United starting line-up following his big-money move, Ten Hag has praised our number 18 for the impact he’s made and the relationship he was with Fred.

”Definitely, there is a link between them, that is clear,” said Ten Hag, when asked about the chemistry between Fred and Casemiro.

”Casemiro is now at the side of him and we see him developing and proving why we signed him.

”He is growing from game to game.”

Casemiro has already established himself as an undroppable in Ten Hag’s side, and the former Ajax manager believes his performances have shown why we needed a player in his ilk.

”You see how important a player like he is for the squad, he was magnificent and the performance shows the club’s needed someone like him,” he added.

”He is showing that in the last few games, what he can do for the team.”

Ahead of Saturday’s trip to Stamford Bridge to face Graham Potter’s Chelsea, the big question will be on who partners Casemiro in the heart of our midfield.

Fred looks to be in the driving seat after his standout performance against Spurs, but the returning Christian Eriksen and Scott McTominay will be eager to get back into the starting line-up.
