Erik ten Hag has provided an injury update on Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount.
It’s been a terrible debut season at Manchester United for Mason Mount, who has been sidelined for the majority of the campaign.
Erik ten Hag made the midfielder his priority target in the transfer window and pursued him ahead of a new goalkeeper and striker.
Mount has been out of action now for months with an unspecified injury and hasn’t played since November 11, 2023.
However, Ten Hag sounded positive about the 25-year-old’s progress in an update on how he is doing and put a date on his return.

Injury update on Mason Mount
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Ten Hag said: “Mason Mount I think he is in a good spell now and he will return shortly.
“I think after the international break. For next week, some players are planning to return, hopefully when the process will continue like it is now.”
A disastrous first campaign for Mason Mount
Mount’s first season couldn’t have gone much worse. Not only has he been injured for most of it but, when he did play, he didn’t do much to prove he was worth Ten Hag’s fervent interest.
United signed Mount for £60m and it has proven to be a colossal waste of money as he was out of contract at Chelsea in the summer of 2024 anyway.
United paid a significant sum to get him a year early and he has only managed to play 12 games and provide one assist.
Even still, United could do with him back as soon as possible given they continue to be plagued by injuries.
Omari Forson is the latest player to join the injury list alongside Mount, Luke Shaw, Ramsus Hojlund, Harry Maguire, Anthony Martial, Lisandro Martinez, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Tyrell Malacia.
Hopefully, he proves his worth when he’s back in action.
