Erik ten Hag has given his thoughts on one of the game-defining moments as Manchester United lost 3-2 to Galatasaray on matchday 2 of the Champions League.
The Red Devils came into the game knowing they needed to pick up a win to keep their hopes of getting out of the group alive but instead lost and now sit bottom of the group, four points adrift of the Turkish side.
Manchester United now have it all to do in the group and may well need to win all four of their remaining games to get out of the group and into the knockout stages.
During the early stages of the second half, United had a chance to retake the lead through Marcus Rashford but, instead of shooting, he squared the ball to Bruno Fernandes but the midfielder couldn’t get there in time.

Ten Hag on Rashford decision
The decision looked to have cost United before Rasmus Hojlund completed his one-man mission and dinked the ball into the net to regain United’s lead.
Obviously, that lead didn’t last very long and the Turkish side went on to win the game in bizarre and rather comical circumstances.
Speaking to TNT Sports after the game, Erik Ten Hag said on Rashford’s decision: “That’s up to Marcus. In such a moment he has to make a decision.”
Was Rashford right to pass
The fantastic first-time through ball from Christian Eriksen sent through the Englishman, had this been last season you’d put your house on Rashford to smash the ball into the bottom corner.
However, it seems the winger is lacking massively in confidence at this moment in time and decided to try and pass instead of rifling the ball in himself.
You could argue that squaring the ball was the right option but the execution of the pass from the United academy graduate was simply not good enough.
