Erik ten Hag was a happy manager after Manchester United’s win over Melbourne Victory.
After conceding an early goal, United won 4-1, scoring two goals in the first half through Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial.
Marcus Rashford added a second after half-time, with Tahith Chong forcing an own goal at the end. United made 10 changes at half-time.
Ten Hag said he was pleased by United’s win, which followed up a 4-0 victory over Liverpool earlier in the week.

Ten Hag pleased with Manchester United’s win over Melbourne Victory
Ten Hag spoke to MUTV to explain he was happy with how United played against a team which set up to defend and make life difficult for the Red Devils attack.
The Dutchman said he was pleased with how United managed to break them down, particularly commending the first half performance of the players who helped the attack down the right.
Ten Hag said: “A really compact opponent, sat so far back, waiting for us. I think the team reacted really good.
“We created a lot on the right side. We created three or four really good chances before half-time.”
The two players principally responsible for this were Jadon Sancho and Diogo Dalot, who combined to create United’s second goal.
Ten Hag’s praise bodes well for both players, and both of them will hope to have a regular spot in the manager’s side next season.
In his pre-match press conference Ten Hag spoke of his desire for United’s attack to be balanced, and not just concentrated on the left.
The good signs on the right against Melbourne shows the manager’s plans are working, at this early stage. Tahith Chong provided a goal from the right late on, to round off a satisfactory second friendly match for Ten Hag’s side.
Ten Hag added he was keen to assess as many players as possible to see whether and how they may be able to contribute over the season ahead.
