Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Manchester United have triggered contract extensions for four players.
It was reported this week that Marcus Rashford, Diogo Dalot, Fred and Luke Shaw would all be staying for at least an extra year.
Ten Hag was asked about that by United’s official website before the game with Nottingham Forest and confirmed that was indeed the case.
The piece said that Ten Hag confirmed all four were very much part of his plans and he suggested he wants all four around long term moving forward.

He said: “Yes, I can confirm it.
“We are happy because the squad is going in the right direction and those players [have] a massive contribution in that direction.”
“We want to develop, we want to support those players and we want them to keep in our process. So, that’s why we came to those decisions, I’m sure they are the right decisions.
“We want to construct a team for the future, so for longer years, and those players have to be part of it.”
It has also been reported that United are negotiating over a new deal for David de Gea, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
The logic there seems to be potentially agreeing a contract on less money than he is on now and also giving Ten Hag more time to consider whether the Spaniard is his long-term number one.
It was also reported that Paris Saint-Germain are viewing a swoop for Fred in 2023, but Ten Hag has just confirmed the £52 million man is in his plans.
It will be interesting to see which of the quartet go on to sign long term extensions and which, if any, are eventually bound for the exit door.
