Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho is available to play this weekend which is a huge boost for Erik ten Hag.
Alejandro Garnacho has been out since March 12th as he suffered a serious injury against Southampton. The 18-year-old was an unused substitute against West Ham and has been in team training for two weeks now.
Ten Hag confirmed his return in the pre-match press conference earlier today.
“He has one more week training, definitely,” ten Hag commented. “Yeah, so he is available and we have seen he can bring something extra in the team.”
Garnacho has quickly established himself as one of ten Hag’s most trusted players. Breaking into the first-team and making a huge impact on the highest level.
It can’t be a coincidence that since his injury, United’s performances have slowly dropped away from the levels seen prior.
His return comes at an important stage for ten Hag, with Marcus Rashford injured. Therefore, it is likely Garnacho moves straight into the starting XI.
Alejandro Garnacho’s stock continues to rise
This time last year, Garnacho was busy scoring a brace and winning the FA Youth Cup. A player that fans had extremely high expectations of, due to his impressive form of the u21s.
Fast forward to today, Garnacho is a bonafide star on the rise with four goals and four assists this season. This despite only starting 12% of games for United.
Adding to his Red Devils breakthrough, Garnacho was in the running to be called up to the Argentina World Cup squad, only narrowly missing out.
Argentina u20s were recently desperate to have Garnacho join them for the u20 World Cup. United refused to let him go due to the timing of the season, but he no doubt has a huge international career awaiting him.
He returns looking to add to his successful season and further establish his name into the Old Trafford folklore.
