Erik ten Hag provided an update on the situation surrounding Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho following the 3-0 win over Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup.
The Englishman has not been involved for Ten Hag since the win over Nottingham Forest last month and has been banished from the squad.
Sancho took umbrage with the Dutchman’s comments following the defeat against Arsenal which implied that the winger was poor in training prior to the game.
Well, following United’s dominant win in the Carabao Cup, Ten Hag was asked about the 23-year-old and gave a rather cold response.

Ten Hag on Sancho
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Ten Hag was clearly eager to avoid the conversation around the former Borussia Dortmund man.
“I don’t talk about players who are not available,” the former Ajax boss said rather coldly when asked about the situation with the 23-year-old.
The Dutchman was pressed further on the matter after it had emerged the winger had deactivated his Instagram account, Ten Hag said: “I don’t know, it’s up to him.”
A resolution doesn’t seem to be in sight for the winger, who has majorly struggled since his move to the club under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer back in 2021.
Ten Hag’s comment
As well as this, Ten Hag was asked a question about the young players who featured during the win at Old Trafford and you wonder if the Dutchman was hinting about Sancho.
“We had many young players on the pitch and you see they are progressing,” the former Ajax manager. “With me, you don’t just get the opportunity, you have to deserve it.
“Hannibal, Garnacho, Pellistri, Dan Gore – they deserve it and have to show it every day in training.”
The Dutchman specifically mentioned training performances, which is what he criticised Sancho for, so it does seem the Dutchman was dropping a hint to the winger about where he went wrong.
