Manchester United picked up a crucial 1-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday amid the growing injury crisis at the club.
The Red Devils were without six defenders for their trip to Lancashire with Raphael Varane only fit enough for the United bench.
Erik ten Hag’s side managed to hold on for the victory and it was some resolute defending from the deputising Jonny Evans alongside Victor Lindelof that got United the win.
One player who was out of that game, it emerged, was Lisandro Martinez. The Argentine seemingly picked up an injury during the week.

Ten Hag’s update on Martinez fitness
The Dutch manager gave an update on the fitness of the Argentine who has seemingly been playing through injury since he suffered a foot problem during the defeat to Arsenal.
“He’s injured,” Ten Hag reluctantly told The Mirror. “Another one. So Licha had an issue, and he recovered from that. But, still, he needs some build-up.”
It seems the defender was rushed back in following the international break and hasn’t recovered fully from the problems he was suffering from during that game at the Emirates Stadium.
Martinez’s injury problems
The defender had to be carried off the pitch during the 2-2 draw with Spanish side Sevilla in the Europa League last season.
There were fears it was an Achilles injury for the defender but those fears were quickly allayed by the manager after the game.
But it does seem like the defender is picking up small injuries as a result of the major injury he suffered last season.
This will, of course, be a worry for Ten Hag who sees Martinez as crucial to how his team plays and the build-up patterns he wants to see from his side in possessio.
The hope will be that the injury he has suffered isn’t too serious and he can be back involved in the first team setup sooner rather than later.
